The Orthopaedic & Spine Center (OSC) in Hampton Roads, Virginia, is a leading orthopaedic practice in the Tidewater area. The center’s operating philosophy is to use state-of-the-art medical technology to bring old-fashioned care and comfort to its ever-growing list of satisfied patients. Robert J. Snyder, MD, a highly skilled, board-certified knee surgeon at OSC, actually lives this beneficial proposition — he’s an avid competitor on the fast-paced handball circuit and he’s a knee surgery and replacement patient, too.
Knowing knee surgery from both sides of the knife, Dr. Snyder quickly realized the benefits of Patient Specific knee replacement implants developed by ConforMIS and became a pioneer of the technology in the Virginia area. One of the major benefits of the ConforMIS product line is that each implant is designed individually and exclusively for the joint requiring surgery, which is, of course, the opposite of standard practice in knee implants, which are mass produced so that one size theoretically fits all.
Not every patient experiencing knee pain or mobility problems requires surgery, so OSC offers a comprehensive line of treatment options for knee pain and dysfunction. The OSC team will customize a treatment plan uniquely suited to address the needs and lifestyle of each patient. Whether knee problems are the result of injury, age or disease, OSC has many satisfied patients who after treatment, are eagerly embracing a pain-free, active lifestyle they thought they’d never enjoy again.
OSC Knee Care Services
Some patients need no more than anti-inflammatory medications to treat knee pain. Others require physical therapy, injectable steroids or other medications designed to provide lubrication inside the knee joint. Knee surgery/replacement is always a last line of treatment, but is necessary for some patients. OSC physicians work with all knee patients to achieve pain relief and maximum mobility, no matter how extensive their care needs. Some services and surgeries offered at Orthopaedic & Spine Center include:
- Advanced Knee Cartilage Treatment
- Knee Arthroscopy
- Knee Resurfacing
- Partial Knee Replacement
- Patellar Surgery
- Revision of Total Knee
- Total Knee Replacement Surgery
